Dr. Molven is professor of molecular pathology and head of Gade Laboratory for Pathology, Dept. of Clinical Medicine, University of Bergen, Norway. He is also group leader at KG Jebsen Center for Diabetes Research. He has been visiting scientist at University of Oregon, Eugene and Fulbright research fellow at Joslin Diabetes Center, Harvard Medical School, Boston.
Molven’s background is in developmental biology and human molecular genetics. The overall theme of his research is the molecular pathology of pancreatic disease. He started out with a focus on monogenic diabetes and congenital hyperinsulinism, but has in more recent years initiated studies also on pancreatic cancer and chronic pancreatitis.
