Prof Davor Štimac, MD PhD has graduated at School of Medicine, University of Rijeka, Croatia. He is the Head of Division of Internal Medicine, General Hospital Manager at University Hospital Rijeka and full professor at School of Medicine, University of Rijeka. He is the Vice president of Croatian Academy of Medical Sciences and a former President of the Croatian Society of Gastroenterology, actual President of the Croatian Pancreatic Club, the President of the Croatian Society for Obesity and the Vice president of the Croatian Society for Enteral and Parenteral nutrition, as well as the Head of the Croatian Reference Center for Pancreatic Diseases.
He is a member of the European Board of Gastroenterology, a member of the WGO Guidelines Committee, a member of the UEGF Future Trends Committee and a counselor for the National Societies Committee of ASNEMGE. His main scientific interests are focused on new endoscopic techniques, IBD and pancreatic diseases. He has been a participant and Head investigator in several projects investigating acute and chronic pancreatitis. He published more than 400 abstracts and articles in peer reviewed journals, some of which were the product of collaboration with the Cochrane Hepatobiliary Group.
